“Friends, family and supporters, I regret to inform you that I did not get on the Democratic Ballot for the June 28th Primary election.

My Sheriff race is over, but after careful consideration, I firmly believe that Dave Hayes (Louisville Police Chief) is our best candidate for Sheriff. He is the the only candidate I see that has listed actual accomplishments, displayed countless programs he developed to better our community, and presented a solid case as to why he should be elected Sheriff. Dave doesn’t have a laundry list of endorsements from “high ranking” elected officials, he listed facts, representing decades of mission accomplishment in our community. His opponent seems to be a great guy, but and I want proven results and an opportunity for change by his side.

    Rex is fully committed to support Dave Hayes in his continued run for Boulder County Sheriff. When Dave is elected, Rex will seek any position in the Sheriff’s department that allows him to affectively serve the community and offer his unique perspectives, vast leadership experience, Wildland Firefighting background and attributes that only a non-police officer can offer. We cannot keep doing things the same way, and Rex will help align the organization to adjust to the changing needs of the community and better recruit and retain deputies.
